2025 and a quarter-century of great adventure games

With 2025 now in the rearview mirror, Joshua and Jack take a look at back at an incredible year in adventure games. There were at least a dozen or more titles staking a valid claim for GOTY status this year, from Old Skies to The Drifter to Foolish Mortals, among others, and the guys discuss some of their favourites for the year – some expected (it’s no secret, Jack liked Keeper!), some not. Of course, it wasn't ALL good news, so they discussed some personal disappointments too, and examined how industry-wide issues impacted our little corner of the gaming world as well. 

But with the flipping of the calendar, not only did we finish off a year, we said goodbye to the first quarter century! Without giving away too many spoilers, Josh and Jack went through some of the no-brainers and surprises on the staff list of The Best 25 Adventure Games of 2000-2025. The list raised some interesting trends, so a brief detour offered a look at what that might mean for the genre going forward.

Finally, of course, a top five, this time taking a break from games to talk about some of best new releases in other mediums.
