Top adventures of 2000 – 2009

It’s been a while! But the journey through MobyGames’ highest-rated adventure games resumes… and runs right smack into the genre’s infamous “dead” period. There just weren’t a lot of quality new releases in the early part of the new millennium, so instead Joshua and Jack expand their focus to an entire decade. The pickings were far less slim from 2005 on, introducing some memorable games like the Phoenix Wright series, The Book of Unwritten Tales, Myst IV, Nancy Drew, The Black Mirror, The Black Mirror again (don't ask) and “adventure era” Telltale (think episodic Sam & Max, Tales of Monkey Island, Strong Bad… and Jack’s favourite, Bone!), among many others. Topped, of course, by… well, that would be telling. You’ll have to listen to find out. 

The boys weigh in on all the games and their rankings – and not necessarily in agreement – before finishing with a top five (that could easily have been top twenty-five) non-adventure games from the same period. What a great time for gaming!
