Farewell 2024 – A last look back at the year that was

Before we put 2024 behind us for good, Joshua and Jack take a look back at the year that was, celebrating the abundant highs and lamenting a few of the lows. SO many new games made for great adventuring, and Adventure Game Hotspot itself experienced phenomenal growth throughout the year – highlighted, of course, by the first ever Adventure Game Fan Fair! The two hosts share some of their personal favourites and disappointments, along with teasing just a sampling of games that made our Best Adventure Games of 2024 article. And, as always, we finish off with a top five, broadening our horizons to any and all mediums with new releases this year.

And on that note, may we offer our sincere thanks to everyone who followed us this year. Each and every reader, listener, watcher and social media participant is an integral part of our Hotspot community, and we can’t wait to return bigger and better in 2025!

  1. I get what you mean about the side quests in Indy. I'm playing FF7-Rebirth and I have the same feeling there: we're supposed to catch Sephiroth, but instead we're waisting our time playing all kinds of mini-games? I do enjoy doing the side quests in each region because at least those raise your stats. Sounds like they wanted to add this RPG element to Indy as well, except I assume there it doesn't actually make you stronger and it's just there for some exploring fun. And yeah, it doesn't make much sense in the story, but I think I'll enjoy those parts anyway.
