Inkle's next game to be like Overboard! in a 1920s boarding school – Interview with Jon Ingold

I spoke to Jon Ingold, co-creator of inkle (80 Days, Steve Jackson's Sorcery!, Heaven's Vault) about the new game they're working on, which the moment is being called Mrs Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls but will have another, shorter name on release. For fans of the British studio's "getting-away-with-murder" adventure game Overboard!, there's exciting news, as the new game will take the mechanics of that one but place it within the setting of a 1920s boarding school.

As a big fan of Overboard! (it was my adventure game of the year for 2021), I had plenty of questions – when might it be released (it's looking like early next year), what were the team's inspirations and how will the Overboard! mechanics work in a school? – and there's lots of juicy details unveiled in our chat. Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments! Will this be one worth wishlisting?
