Adventure Game Geek consults Cosmic Void about Twilight Oracle
- 0 Comments
Indie developer Aviv Salinas of Cosmic Void has created an impressive library of point-and-click adventures in a short period of time, releasing a new game each year beginning with Void Breach in 2020, followed by The Corruption Within and Blood Nova. His latest title is Twilight Oracle, a classic-styled point-and-click fantasy adventure about a group of students with special abilities, who are sent by their school council to a "forsaken world on the edge of the cosmos" to find and capture a renegade disciple. Their journey takes them to a variety of exotic locations, from mysterious forests to the depths of the sea (fortunately the main character Leo can breathe underwater!) to the exactly-what-it-sounds-like realm called Candyland.
"Short and sweet" are the three words Adventure Game Geek believes best describe this charmingly whimsical retro adventure. (An impression shared by Adventure Game Hotspot's Johnny Nys in his review of the game.) Of course, in his recent video feature about Twilight Oracle, AGG has much more to say in his own unique way – and sing! (There's a song about anal leaks; you have been warned.) Joining him, in voice and spirit if not in person, is the developer himself, who chimes in with first-hand insights about certain decisions made for the game, such as giving all four main characters their own unique powers, the benefits of having not one but two giant talking fish, how he chose to "spice up" some otherwise traditional fantasy environments, and taking a creative approach to solving Meanie the genie's riddles. All this and more is just a click away.
