Five Top Upcoming Adventure Games – September 2026

It's back to school time! And by "school" of course we mean "gaming" once the kids are packed up and shuffled out the door, busy doing homework or sent to bed early. Good thing it's shaping up to be a great month of games, then. In September we can board two very different space stations – one to screen (literal) aliens for admission to Earth, the other to deal with mysterious phenomena distorting time, space, and physics. We can also follow in the footsteps of Dante himself into hell, laugh at an unlikely alternative rock trio confronting a sentient computer, and roleplay a creature of the night in the new game from Wadjet Eye and one of the writers of Sunless Skies. 

Not enough? Well, there's always another cozy black-and-white photo journey, an absurdist shape-shifting adventure, more than one missing child to locate, plus plenty of things going bump in the night to choose from, among many others. So start "studying" up! There will be a test later.
