Simon the Sorcerer: Origins video interview – Fabrizio Rizzo and Giulia Valentina, Smallthing Studios

As a big fan of the original Simon the Sorcerer adventure game, I was excited to hear more about how the upcoming prequel to the series, called Simon the Sorcerer: Origins, might work and how Smallthing Studios would go about re-creating what people love about the franchise whilst also giving it a modern touch. It was therefore great to catch up with Fabrizio Rizzo and Giulia Valentina from the development team (working in design and art, respectively) to get a bit of insight into what they're making.

Whilst they're still keeping their cards close to their chest about how exactly this is going to be a prequel, Fabricio and Giulia did explain what singer Rick Astley's involvement is going to be (mentioned first in the game's trailer), the thought process behind the game's art style, how original creators the Woodroffe brothers were involved in development of Origins, and what it's been like working with original actors Chris Barrie and Eric Borner, who are voicing Simon in English and German once again. The game is due out later this year, so check out the full interview below in the meantime!
