As the actor portraying Tex Murphy, Chris Jones may get most of the attention and accolades for his work in front of the camera, but the success of the beloved FMV series owes at least as much to the work done behind the scenes by Aaron Conners.

Aaron joined Access Software just in time for a hilarious cameo in the second less-than-memorable Tex Murphy adventure, Martian Memorandum, before taking the reins to write and co-design the next three games that catapulted the series to its status as one of the best FMV and adventure game franchises of all time. He's also written novelizations of Under a Killing Moon and The Pandora Directive, as well as three other original stories with plans for many more.

But how did it all come to be, and who exactly is Aaron Conners? For his latest video, the Space Quest Historian sat down with Aaron, alongside videogame journalist/writer/developer Richard Cobbett, to discuss an impressive career spanning thirty years. The result was not one but TWO excellent and highly entertaining hour-long video interviews.

The first, (relatively) spoiler-free, is highlighted in the excerpted video below, but the full unedited version is available to watch on SQH's alternate YouTube channel as well. And if you really want to immerse yourself in all-things-Tex, the link to a second spoiler-filled interview can be found on Aaron's website. While there, you can learn more about and even order his finished books, which we can enthusiastically recommend as excellent reads.
