First clues uncovered for The Mystery of Doomsday Valley

Hand-drawn, point-and-click mystery from the creator of Champy the Useless Vampire coming soon to Kickstarter
With a name like "Doomsday Valley," it's only a matter of time before something goes disastrously wrong there. Fortunately for adventure gamers, that time is approaching soon with the recent unveiling of The Mystery of Doomsday Valley, by the indie creator of Champy the Useless Vampire.
The valley got its name from an apocalyptic cult who supposedly operated in the area thirty years ago, and rumours of "strange events" have long been reported in the area. But now it seems that "something new is stirring in the valley," and the increased number of unexplained incidents have baffled the police and made the townsfolk uneasy. Clearly "something is happening out in the forest, and it’s definitely not a weekend hiking club enjoying the scenery." As it just so happens, a "quirky journalist" for the Bizarre Bulletin named Maya Harper is looking for her next big scoop. Maya specializes in the unexplainable, and her "videos about haunted buildings, faith healing and urban legends" have made her and her platform incredibly popular. When she hears about Doomsday Valley, she decides to head straight there to investigate for herself, but upon arrival her involvement proves to be not entirely welcome.
As with indie developer True Ascension's last game, The Mystery of Doomsday Valley is a lovely hand-drawn, classic-styled point-and-click adventure, but while it will still have "all the fun and cute from Champy," this time there will be a greater focus on "mystery and investigation," with a longer playtime as a result. You'll meet a variety of fully voiced "lovable characters and cute animals" to chat with (or pat) along the way, each of them fleshed out to have their own "depth and personality" with a significant part to play in a story that explores themes such as "news, fake news, conspiracy, and truth." And of course there will be puzzles to solve, aiming for the right balance of difficulty so it will be "fun and accessible for new players but also challenging for more seasoned adventurers."
There is no target release date at this point, as The Mystery of Doomsday Valley will need some crowdfunding support first. To that end, the developers have set up a Kickstarter pre-launch page that you can sign up for now to learn more about the game and be notified when it goes live. A playable demo is expected to be released at that time as well.
