Al Lowe has a Tech Talk with Daniel Albu in a leisurely, in-depth video interview about Al's legendary career at Sierra and beyond
Al Lowe is world renowned and a first-ballot final nominee for the upcoming Adventure Game Hall of Fame inauguration. And yet you can make a good argument that's he's actually underrated. When his name comes up, it's often followed by “the Leisure Suit Larry guy.” Sometimes Freddy Pharkas comes up, but Al’s incredible resume is far more diverse than that. Al played a significant role in the early Disney adventures for Sierra On-Line, as well as some King’s Quest games, Torin's Passage and more.
For his next wide-ranging interview, the titular host of Tech Talk with Daniel Albu sits down with the legendary game designer for a three-hour trip down memory lane. While most adventure game fans have surely read, seen or heard Al being interviewed before (including on our own recent podcast), you probably haven’t heard the stories in as much depth as Daniel manages to pull out of his conversation with Al. As always, Daniel gets to the nitty and the gritty, uncovering not just the facts but the feelings and emotions that Al felt when the events were happening.
It’s cold almost everywhere in the world right now, but you’ll feel warm and cozy enjoying this in-depth interview. So put this one up on your favorite device, grab some snacks, push play and enjoy!
Tech Talk with Daniel Albu is part of the Adventure Game Hotspot Network, a collective of talented, dedicated content producers who work entirely independently but have joined forces to promote each other’s efforts.
