Teen pixel art mystery about an ill-fated pursuit of fame coming soon to Windows, Mac and Linux

For many who live on their phones nowadays, particularly teenagers, success is all about the likes to found online. But at what cost, the price of fleeting fame? The cast of Love Me or Die will soon find out the tragic answer to that question in the upcoming debut mystery adventure from indie developer Chaotic Ravens.

Yuki is like many teens, a "lonely and misunderstood" young woman who feels unseen by her peers and rest of society in her hometown of Kaótica. After a "particularly disastrous day when both school and friends turn their backs on her," Yuki decides to take matters into her own hands without considering the consequences. When she takes "a shortcut to fame by imitating a famous idol in a desperate attempt to gain recognition and acceptance," it seems like her plan just might work. She begins achieving the attention and popularity she so desperately craves, but during her first major musical performance, a madman called the "Biscuit Killer" strikes again by claiming another victim. This tragic incident draws Yuki into a potentially dangerous investigation that will "challenge her beliefs and everything she had planned."

Love Me or Die is a retro-styled pixel art adventure set within a city "brimming with eccentric characters and hidden secrets." Its tale of "fame, tragedy and redemption" is filled with unexpected plot turns and "biting humor that adds an acidic twist to your interactions with the inhabitants of Kaótica." Players will explore a variety of locations, collect and combine items, solve puzzles and make deductions to progress, but you'll also need to contend with the social media monster you've helped create for yourself. That means at times you must "face off against rivals in fierce tweet battles," requiring both a thoughtful social strategy as well as quick reflexes to ensure you come out on top to "gain popularity and advance the story."

Originally begun as a final-year project by a group of Spanish students, Love Me or Die has since been expanded and is now nearing completion as a full commercial release. There is no target launch date just yet, but the developers say it's coming "very soon" exclusively on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux.
