We Were Here Tomorrow coming later this year

Next installment in the popular two-player co-op puzzle series coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Here we go again. After four main installments in Total Mayhem's We Were Here co-op puzzle-adventure series, as well as a spin-off Expeditions game for good measure, the indie Dutch developer is right back at it with the next new entry due out later this year, called We Were Here Tomorrow.
Where its predecessors dropped players into the treacherous Castle Rock tucked far away in frozen Arctic climes, in this game players find themselves "transported to a retro-futuristic complex known as the Norcek facility, a place filled with strange technology, unsettling secrets, and unanswered questions." You and your companion will awaken inside "mysterious pods," while outside the "world beyond the glass is one you no longer recognize." Before long a "calm, confident voice" chimes in, with instructions guiding you "through the unfamiliar facility [and] equipping you both with useful tools as you puzzle your way through a list of assignments together." With nowhere else to go, you have no choice but to "carry out the orders given to you." At least at first. Success once again will depend on teamwork and clear communication as "you and your partner embark on daring missions to uncover the truth behind this mysterious location and why you were brought there."
Much of We Were Here Tomorrow will be instantly familiar to fans of a series that now count 25 million players all told, but the new game does have a few tricks up its sleeve. As before, you'll be confronted by a variety of different "asymmetrical puzzles that can only be solved through cooperation and trust." Some will be faced together and others when separated, requiring communication via walkie-talkie as you each "describe what you see, share what you know, and piece together the truth as one." The adventure that awaits is not merely more of the same, however, instead representing the series' "biggest shift yet," introducing "unique character abilities... and a fresh narrative direction" to go with its original setting. Each partner is equipped with their own "futuristic attire" and individual abilities the other doesn't possess. That means you'll need to work together to overcome obstacles, some of which will involve defying gravity to reach new "uncharted areas, advanced technology, and dark secrets."
There is no firm release date just yet, but We Were Here Tomorrow is due to launch sometime before the end of this year on Steam for Windows PC, along with console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
