Unique postapocalyptic puzzle-platformer available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

Ever heard the expression "full of hot air?" Well, that's going to you in Airhead, the newly released Metroidvania-style puzzle-platformer from Octato and Massive Miniteam. And I mean that in a completely literal sense.

Actually, it's not really YOU who's full of hot air, but a vulnerable companion you'll need to escort to safety by wearing it as your head. In a "beautiful but dangerous world, full of ancient technology," players control a headless being appropriately known as Body, who witnesses a symbiotic Head violently ripped from its bodily counterpart by a machine and left for dead in a cave. Body must now "take the deflating Head’s life upon their shoulders" on a journey across the industrial postapocalyptic environment in order to find the machine again to save Head's life. It's not only a "race against time" but against physics as well, as Head will constantly need to be replenished via air cylinders found along the way. There will be many perilous obstacles to overcome, and along the way you'll "uncover the mystery of what connects Head, the air tanks, and the technology that litters the world." And when the time comes, Body "must decide if they are willing to bear the consequences to save a friend's life."

Airhead's complex but personal "exploration of loss, decay and hope" is beautifully and distinctively designed with contrasting "bold colour and bleak shadow." The side-scrolling experience will take players through a variety of diverse environments such as "dark caverns, ancient ruins and abandoned factories." There you'll encounter a "myriad of strange creatures" and unfamiliar old technologies that may either help or hinder your progress. Puzzle solving will require mastering the "unique mechanics of a detachable head full of air," but in order to unlock Body and Head's full collaborative potential, you'll need to unlock upgrades and new abilities that will grant access to additional avenues of exploration that wouldn't be available otherwise. It pays to be thorough and explore, as the obvservant player can discover many "secrets and hidden paths" in your travels to enrich the story further.

If this has you feeling pumped, you can get started right away, as Airhead is available now for PC on Steam, GOG and Epic, as well as on consoles for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, or it can be streamed through Amazon Luna.
