Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School ready for enrollment on Steam

Demo also available for solo or co-op "open world escape room" adventure on Windows PC

Now that the kids are back in boring school, it's time for the adults to return to FUN school! Namely, the campus of Coin Crew Games' newly released Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School.

Players were first introduced to this unique faculty back in 2022, but you obviously can't master the art of escape in just one semester. And so it's back to the "world’s foremost clandestine educator" for another term of puzzle challenge and student camaraderie. (Or straight to the front of the class for those who skipped a grade.) In between lessons you're free to "connect with new teachers and familiar faces from the first game [through] character driven-storylines and puzzle-stuffed side quests." You'll also have the chance to uncover a "dark mystery surrounding the school’s founding, leading to shocking new revelations about the very nature of The Academy." But beware the learning curve, as the curriculum promises (threatens?) to be "equal parts life-threatening and wacky," from spiked ceilings to 100-foot drops, because "what better way to learn than while confronting one's mortality."

Unlike many sequels, Escape Academy 2 isn't simply more of the same. Yes, it'll feature a similar low-poly 3D look, once again accompanied by an original soundtrack by "evil genius DJ Doseone ... with a sick round of fresh beats." And there will be plenty more "best-in-class escape rooms built by [a] team of veteran puzzle designers," which can be played alone or with a friend via online or splitscreen couch co-op. But the new game boasts an "all-new campus" with a presentation "rebuilt with new environments, tons of details, and even some snazzy new getups for professors and pupils." What's really different, however, is the open-world design this time around. Rather than individual escape rooms, here the entire university represents "one big puzzle room." That means in your free time you can "explore a sprawling, secret-filled hub with mysterious passageways, hidden tunnels, and dangerous traps. Or chill out with your pals and take in all the *vibes* that student life has to offer." Just don't slack off too much, though, because there WILL be final exams.
