Sally Face to reappear in sequel for PC, consoles and mobile devices

Sequel to 2016 point-and-click horror adventure to be released episodically through Early Access

It's been ten years since Sally Face first showed his... well, face in Steve Gabry's five-part episodic series named after its unusual main character. Or rather, did NOT show his face, as the case may be. A decade later, the boy with "blue pigtails, a prosthetic face and a mysterious past" is getting set to return in the upcoming Sally Face 2.

The first game saw Sal “Sally Face” Fisher using his "handheld video game system to speak with the dead and learn their stories." Belong long, however, he and his friends discovered "something truly sinister casting shadows over their small town." While plot details are scarce, this time around Sal and his pals must "continue to navigate a dark and unforgiving world where terror lurks around every corner and even the release of death holds no relief." In this dark and "grim, never-ceasing world of lost hope," players must help the group "endure and survive" and perhaps even find some semblance of meaning. 

As with the first game, Sally Face 2 will be an entirely hand-drawn adventure inspired by the "classic 90s cartoons" but infused with plenty of nightmare fuel for a "new chapter of horror and unrelenting dread." Also like its predecessor, the sequel promises plenty of "complex puzzles and gut-wrenching story twists" to unravel, with an optional hint system available to propel you through the "supernatural, post-apocalypse" environment. Besides the setting, the other main difference between games is that players can expect a "much more ambitious" experience than the original, according to Gabry, now joined by a small team of his own at Portable Moose, in a narrative filled with "encroaching darkness where no one is safe and each revelation is more shocking than the last."

Sally Face 2 will be episodic as well, but instead of launching new installments separately for individual purchase, the game will be launched through Steam Early Access for Windows, Mac and Linux. Initially only the first episode will be available (referred to as "Sally Face 2, Episode Six"), with new ones released as they're completed and included as part of the base price. Eventually the full game will be ported to consoles and mobile devices, just like the first game, which has recently been released on the App Store and Google Play to coincide with the series' ten-year anniversary.
