Supermassive's The Casting of Frank Stone set for 2024 release

Upcoming cinematic horror adventure for PC and consoles part of the Dead by Daylight universe
The trickle of action-oriented game franchises spinning off narrative-focused experiences is starting to become a steady stream. Hot on the heels of Sea of Thieves (The Legend of Monkey Island) and League of Legends (Song of Nunu), the latest popular action IP to join the adventure ranks is Behaviour Interactive's multiplayer game Dead by Daylight, in the form of the upcoming cinematic horror adventure The Casting of Frank Stone, by Supermassive Games.
While Dead by Daylight sees one player hunting down four victims trying to evade death and power up an escape route, this game is a single player adventure in which the "blood-soaked legacy" of just such a killer "cuts deep, leaving scars across families, generations, and the very fabric of reality itself." In the small Oregonian mill town of Cedar Hills, the psychopath Frank Stone committed a series of gruesome acts, forever changing the town and its inhabitants in the wake of his violent rampage. The lingering traumatic impact isn't merely psychological, however, having also spawned "horrors beyond comprehension." Now a group of four friends must join forces and brave a "twisted journey where nothing is quite as it seems," all in an attempt to "unravel a mystery of cosmic proportions."
While The Casting of Frank Stone is set in the Dead by Dying universe, its story is new and stars an original group of characters never before introduced. The gameplay, meanwhile, shares more in common with Supermassive's other populer cinematic horror adventures like Until Dawn, The Quarry and The Dead Pictures Anthology. As you explore the horrifying environs in, around, and beneath the creepy old steel mill with an unnatural storm raging outside, you'll need to make critical choices with the highest of stakes, each of which "shapes the story and impacts the fate of the characters within it." The narrative promises to be "filled with spine-chilling twists" and "brimming with emotional gut-punches," making even seemingly simple decisions a "truly heart-wrenching dilemma."
There is no firm release date just yet, but The Casting of Frank Stone is due to launch sometime in 2024 for Steam, Epic and the Microsoft Store, along with consoles versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
