Third game in Croteam's acclaimed sci-fi puzzle-adventure series coming soon to PC and PlayStation 5

Way back in 2014, the success of The Talos Principle felt like a long shot. A philosophical puzzle-heavy adventure from the Croatian developer of Serious Sam? How would THAT work?! Well, the answer, as it turns out, is phenomenally well. But now, more than a decade, two complete games, a couple expansions, and one remake later, the highly acclaimed series is preparing its closing chapter in the upcoming series finale.

This time around, players are awakened as if from "a troubled sleep" to find themselves alone on a "strange, contradictory world of crumbling temples and abandoned science outposts." It's part of the Anomaly, the "only place in the universe where the laws of physics don't work as they should." You can only remember bits and pieces of what led to your arrival, but "you know you came here for a reason." Now you must solve another "series of increasingly complex puzzles" as you "relive your life as an explorer, and with it, the history of the world that humanity built." Along the way, you'll seek to understand the nature of this unusual place that some call Heaven, some Hell. All you know for sure is that here your "judgement awaits."

As with its predecessors, The Talos Principle 3 will be explored in first-person, free-roaming 3D, accompanied by an original soundtrack from composer Damjan Mravunac. This "cosmic journey" will take players to over a dozen worlds with a variety of different environments, from "a desert planet undergoing terraforming to the beautiful gardens of Elysium." Wherever you go, you'll find lots to think about, in more ways than one. There will of course be a whole "fresh set of devious puzzles using both familiar and all-new mechanics" to solve, though as before, some are optional so you can choose to "complete only what you must, or pursue the deeper secrets of the Anomaly and the answers they hold." The new story from Jonas Kyratzes, Verena Kyratzes and Tom Jubert promises another "thought-provoking, character-driven exploration of life, death, and the Sublime" that presents "a hopeful vision of the distant human future ... through fragments of personal memories" unlocked as you progress.

There is no firm target release date yet, but The Talos Principle 3 is due to arrive "soon" on Steam for Windows PC, along with a console version for PlayStation 5
