Daughter of Voodoo to pin hopes on Steam Early Access

Supernatural mystery from the creator of Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I. and Among the Whispers coming soon on PC
Having already delivered a pair of "grounded ghost hunting simulators" in the form of Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I. and Among the Whispers: Provocation, the solo developer of D&A Studios is looking to do so once again but with a little different flavour in the upcoming Daughter of Voodoo.
Players assume the role of a clairvoyant priestess named Marie Laurette, who walks "a fine line between the living and the dead." It's your task to uncover the stories behind a series of hauntings in order to discover what binds the deceased to this world and "decide what must be done to set them free." You'll use some "vintage paranormal tools" to assist you, but it's your unique supernatural ability that allows you to "pierce the veil and glimpse into the realm of the dead where you see spirits as they were in their final, fleeting moments." To achieve that you'll need to perform ceremonies using "authentic Voodoo practices [and] craft Voodoo ritual objects like mojo bags" in order to "strengthen your connection to the realm of the dead" and "commune with spirits and uncover the haunting truths that echo beyond the grave." Beware, however, that while some will be grateful for your intervention, "not every spirit welcomes your presence."
While telling its own stories "inspired by Real Voodoo lore," Daughter of Voodoo is set in the universe of Conrad Stevenson and promises to tie "both of the previous games into one storyline." Described as a "first-person, single-player ghost investigation game where ancestral Voodoo rituals collide with the unseen world of the dead," this game continues its predecessors' formula of offering a "slower, more authentic approach to the paranormal" that rewards patience and thoroughness. In addition to utilizing more traditional ghost hunting equipment such as "tape recorders, microphones, and cameras" to record otherworldly phenomena, gameplay will involve such things as researching and gathering ingredients needed for crafting, and performing the "Summoning" ritual to make contact with an "alternate dimension." Each case is intended to "draw you deeper into tense, unpredictable encounters, where every sound and shadow could be the clue you’ve been searching for... or the warning you were meant to fear."
No firm release date has yet been announced, but the good news is that Daughter of Voodoo is listed as "coming soon" on Steam for Windows PC. The less good news is that it will initially be launched through Early Access, with "several new locations with fresh ghosts and mysteries to investigate, additional collectibles that expand the protagonist’s story, more ghost types with unique behaviors and characteristics, and expanded inventory items to aid in investigations" to be added over the course of approximately one year.
