First-person psychological horror adventure from the creators of Sleep Paralysis coming early next year to Steam

Usually the worst thing you have to worry about with a storm is the weather. But in The Last Transmission, the upcoming psychological horror game by Hidden Veil Studios, creators of 2022's Sleep Paralysis: The Uncanny Valley, it's what the storm brings with it that you really have to worry about.

Players assume the role of "the sole operator of a remote radio station, deep in the mountains." It's a lonely job, but with an unnatural storm approaching that defies all usual weather patterns, you'll be keeping busy with your tasks anyway to "monitor the storm, log transmissions, and report your findings." What you weren't expecting was to pick up a strange signal that shouldn't be physically possible, and hear a voice that "whispers your name." You start finding logs "written in your own words – before you arrived" and receive a phone call from a man who claims to be from the abandoned house across the valley. You know it can't be true, but then the storm arrives and "devours the mountains" as the peaks "vanish beneath rolling clouds." You've never felt so alone, and yet "something" came with the storm and is now here to stay. Perhaps the answers lie in the house the call originated from – a house that "still waits for someone who never left."

If the premise alone wasn't enough to give you the heebie jeebies, The Last Transmission's first-person 3D presentation surely will, with its eerie, atmospheric lighting and a pervasive sense of isolation and dread in a mountain setting that is "vast, cold, and silent." Focusing more on psychological horror than survival, the game equips you with just a radio, phone and typewriter to "track a growing storm and log transmissions that shouldn't exist." And your feet, of course, as you'll need to screw up your courage to venture outside and traverse the "empty stretch of alpine wilderness" to find out what's really happening in the mysterious house with the red light on that seems to be beckoning you to come.

There is no specific target release date for The Last Transmission yet, but the game is on track to launch on Steam sometime in the first quarter of 2026 for Windows PC.
