Amanda the Adventurer returns for trilogy finale

Third game in the children's cartoon-themed analog horror series coming to Steam later this year
Remember when children's cartoons used to be fun and playful programs we watched on Saturday mornings without a care in the world? Yeah, those are long gone – at least, they are in MANGLEDmaw's twisted Amanda the Adventurer, the popular analog horror series that will come to a close with its third and final installment later this year.
In the first game, players assumed the role of Riley Park, who inherited an old house from their reclusive Aunt Kate. In the attic, Riley found an old CRT TV beside a bunch of VHS tapes of an early 2000s-era kid's cartoon about a feisty young girl named Amanda and her loyal but fearful pal Wooly the Sheep. Strangely – and perhaps dangerously – the two stars seemed to have minds of their own, with a tangible connection to the real world, creating a whole new kind of challenge for Riley. Last year's sequel saw Riley leave the house for Kensdale Public Library to investigate further, leading to an encounter with a mysterious masked figure and the revelation of a "powerful entity" drawn to the tapes, even as Amanda herself became aware of Riley's presence.
Amanda the Adventurer 3 is similar in most respects to its two predecessors, with its free-roaming, first-person 3D presentation and the promise of "more secrets, more scares, and more creepy interactive 90s children's cartoons." This time, however, immediately after the events of the previous game, Riley sets out to explore "the abandoned Hameln Entertainment facility to finally discover the truth." The brief introductory teaser hints at a creepy office environment and even creepier sewer setting and hi-tech facility to investigate. Of course there will more "challenging, escape room-style puzzles" to solve, using clues you find hidden in new tapes of "Amanda and friends" along the way.
There is no target release date for Amanda the Adventurer 3, but the game isn't too far off, due to launch on Steam sometime in 2025 for Windows PC, giving you a bit more time to catch up on the first two games while you wait.
