Ghost of the Porcelain Cat being polished up for PC release

New supernatural feline mystery unveiled by the creators of Cat's Request and Detective from the Crypt

There are some rather obvious common themes emerging from the games of BOV, creators of Cat's Request, Detective from the Crypt and Cat and Ghostly Road. So it should come as no surprise that similar themes will lie at the heart of the indie developer's next game as well, the upcoming Ghost of the Porcelain Cat.

When a magician's porcelain prop cat is inadvertently turned into a ghost, it is forced to "descend into the underworld and confront Death itself to rediscover its true self." Doing so promises to be a challenge, as "sinister monsters and Death’s minions inhabit this shadowy realm, where time seems to have stopped, and eternal night reigns." As unlikely a hero as it may be, it soon becomes clear that "only the small ghost of the porcelain cat stands against the madness."

As with its predecessors, Ghost of the Porcelain Cat is a "mystical point-and-click adventure" with a hauntingly lovely hand-painted art style, and once again it's not a human protagonist but a feline one left to face the many brain-teasing obstacles. As players explore this "dark world full of mysteries, strange dangerous creatures, and ghosts," they can expect plenty of puzzle challenges, "transformation magic" and "unpredictable adventures," including a meeting with the Dark Wizard inhabiting this supernatural realm. 

That's about all we know of Ghost of the Porcelain Cat so far, as no target release date has yet been announced. It will be launching on Steam for Windows and Linux when finished, however, where you can catch up with BOV's earlier games while you wait.
