Boxville 2 demo ready for unpacking

Sequel to Amanita-styled wordless puzzle adventure coming soon to PC, consoles and mobile devices
Many of us have just experienced the pleasure of unwrapping and opening up boxes and discovering surprises inside, but even if you didn't, we can all dig into the new demo for Boxville 2, an upcoming sequel to the charming 2022 Amanita-styled puzzle adventure from indie Ukrainian developer Triomatica Games.
Boxville is no ordinary city – it's literally made of boxes. And its citizens are no ordinary people – they're all tin cans. Fortunately there's a lot going on in this unusual place that keeps needing outside intervention. In the first game, Blue Can set off in search of a missing friend after a series of devastating earthquakes rocked the city and closed off many of its pathways. The circumstances this time are similar if not quite so dire, as the mayor assigns two cans the important job of setting up a fireworks display. Unfortunately, a mishap causes the fireworks to go off early and drag one of the cans with it to parts unknown, causing "chaos in the city" in the process. It's now up to the Red Can left behind to "explore different areas and secret spots in Boxville and even travel outside the city to fix everything and find his friend."
As fans of the first game would surely hope and expect, Boxville 2 looks and plays very much like its predecessor, with charming hand-drawn characters and environments reminiscent of Machinarium but with their own distinct flavour. And once again, though your quest will be complemented by a unique musical score and sound effects for every interaction, not a word will be spoken, as thoughts are communicated strictly through pictograms. This makes it more challenging to complete the many different puzzles and minigames scattered throughout, which will require both logic and some lateral creative thinking to solve.
The full version of Boxville 2 has no target release date just yet, but PC and mobile gamers can already download the demo on Steam, GOG, the App Store and Google Play. Console gamers will have to wait a little longer, but the same demo is coming sometime in January for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms as well. If you haven't yet played the original Boxville, it too is available for download from all the same storefronts.
