Realistic first-person 3D Nordic adventure on land and stormy sea coming to PC and consoles

It's surely hard enough to endure the rugged terrain and inclement weather of the Nordic coast on land, but in TomorrowHead Studio's upcoming WILL: Follow The Light, you'll need to confront treacherous stormy seas as well. Just like any adventurer would want it!

Players step into the first-person shoes of the titular Will, a "a fearless man who grew up on the sea, as he ventures north in search of his missing son." Setting out from your remote lighthouse, you'll traverse rocky shores by foot or by dog sled when the snow arrives, while the raging far northern waters must be skillfully navigated in your sailing yacht, with rain and darkness and thunderous waves wreaking havoc all around you. Emotions will take a beating as well, as the protagonist's story "revisits the timeless dilemma between fathers and sons," and in the "ringing silence of loneliness" you'll come to learn more about your own nature and "the importance of caring for your loved ones."

Inspired by the escapist isolation of Firewatch and the atmospheric visuals of Alan Wake, WILL is a free-roaming 3D adventure that places a heavy emphasis on mood and authenticity. As you sail between "remote islands and uncharted waters," you will plot your path using "an authentic weather station and lifelike navigation system," while the yacht will be piloted with "realistic controls and developed in collaboration with arctic voyagers," though streamlined somewhat to be more accessible for players. Physical obstacles and puzzles you encounter along the way will be "rooted in real life" but involve "mysterious elements related to your relatives," adding an additional layer of intrigue to the story.

There is no target release date just yet, but WILL: Follow The Light is on track to launch sometime in 2025 for Windows PC on Steam, along with console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
