VR-exclusive paranormal mystery from the creator of The Room series coming later to Steam VR and PSVR2

Fireproof Games is rightfully beloved by puzzle enthusiasts across multiple gaming platforms for its acclaimed The Room series, but it appears now that the indie British developer is ready to focus on VR devices and new IPs. Following the studio's last release of The Room VR comes word of a brand-new adventure, a paranormal mystery called Ghost Town

It's 1983, and life is good for Edith Penrose, a "witch turned ghost hunter who walks the haunted streets of London tracking and exorcising restless spirits." Edith runs the paranormal detective agency Penrose & Hicks with her flatmate, and business has been booming. Even the "ghosts in her bathroom mirror have been less demanding than usual." But the good times evaporate in an instant when Edith's brother goes missing. A lone "mysterious new lead promises to reveal clues of his whereabouts," so with the stakes more personal than ever, Edith must embark on a "visit to a remote Scottish island in the hope a gifted clairvoyant can provide some much-needed answers."

Ghost Town is a first-person 3D adventure that will need "a combination of wits, mystical knowledge and ancient magic to help Edith glimpse beyond our world." As you progress through a variety of atmospheric locations both above and belowground, you will encounter a "diverse range of characters" both living and dead, as well as "unearthly puzzles" that require the protagonist's unique supernatural gifts to solve. The game is being designed as a VR exclusive for deeper immersion, and the dexterity afforded by having a controller in each hand allows players to "overcome tactile puzzles, cast spells and even summon troubled spirits to move them on to the next world."

There isn't much longer to wait for Ghost Town on Meta Quest 2 and 3, as the game will be launching April 24th on the Meta store. Those with PC VR and PS VR2 headsets will have to be a bit more patient, as the game is scheduled to launch on Steam and the PlayStation Store sometime later this year.
