Out of early access, VR-exclusive puzzle-adventure available for HTC Vive, Valve Index, Rift and Quest 2

Many adventure games feature impressive world-building, but in the VR-exclusive Shores of Loci from developer MikeTeevee, it's the player who does the building of worlds in a very literal fashion.

In a universe "where puzzled pieces are assembled and transformed," players possess the rather godlike power to rebuild the homes and lands of giants and villagers across five completely "distinct, magical environments." You will play both architect and craftsman as you plan and fit together parts of buildings and pieces of the landscape to better suit the displaced denizens of each locale, like a giant 3D jigsaw puzzle made of living, breathing pieces. As you progress, you'll come to discover that "you are the missing piece to completing the story and bringing balance to more adventures than one."

Designed for players of all ages exclusively for virtual reality, the gorgeous debut title by the women-led indie studio can be played either sitting or standing and promises to transport players "to other dimensions to create visions larger than life." Shores of Loci will feature twelve environmental puzzles to solve in total, each backed by a tranquil soundscape that "calms, soothes, and clears players' minds in an immersive and meditative puzzle experience." There is "no wrong way to play and no rush to finish," so as your creations begin to take shape, you can sit back and revel in how the villages in your care become dynamically more populated with a cast of "lovable and memorable characters."

Released earlier this year via early access, the finished game is now available for download on Steam for HTC Vive, Valve Index and Oculus Rift, or the Meta Quest Store, where it supports Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro. There may be more to come as well, as the developers intend to produce "quarterly puzzle pack updates" to further expand the Shores of Loci experience.
